Open Position: Project Manager & Copywriter

We're looking for a skilled Project Manager & Copywriter who can balance the creative demands of writing with the organization and coordination of multiple projects. If you're passionate about crafting compelling content, enjoy managing projects from start to finish, have a keen eye for detail and thrive in a collaborative environment working with both consultants and clients, this role could be the perfect fit!

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of writing projects, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring all deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of projects.

  • Track project progress, manage timelines, and adjust resources as needed to meet shifting priorities and deadlines.

  • Maintain clear and organized project documentation, ensuring all project information is easily accessible and up-to-date.

  • Ensure that all materials meet client specifications, quality standards, and brand guidelines.

Copy Writing:

  • Create compelling and persuasive written content for the Solvent Group clients, including Case Statements, grants, donor communications, appeal letters, press releases, marketing copy and more.

  • Conduct thorough research and data collection to inform all writing projects, including stakeholder interviews, surveys, and data analysis.

  • Develop clear, consistent messaging tailored to specific audiences and client needs, ensuring alignment with overall communication goals.

  • Edit, proofread, and revise drafts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to client guidelines and project objectives.

  • Collaborate with consultants and clients to refine messaging and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and branding.

External Communications:

  • Manage Solvent Group’s external communications on an as-needed basis, ensuring timely and consistent messaging to stakeholders, the public, and the media.

  • Occasionally work with consultants and external vendors (e.g., graphic designers) to create and distribute content for public-facing initiatives, including marketing collateral and social media posts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in journalism, marketing, communications, or another related field

  • Familiarity with design and print production processes

  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources required

  • Experience working in a professional services, communications, or creative industry

  • Multitasking, organizational and time management skills required

  • Nonprofit experience

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and email etiquette

  • Background in supporting senior-level executives or business leaders

Company Culture/Work Environment:

You will be expected to regularly work 40 hours a week. Your regular schedule will be set in accordance with the direction of your supervisor. Please note that hours and schedule may vary with the needs of the organization and/or job requirements. This is a remote position, with the ability to work in our office based in Traverse City, MI if preferred. Benefits package includes paid time off, medical, dental and vision insurance, and 401K match. We value work-life balance and the well-being of our team is our highest priority.

Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000

The compensation range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000, depending on experience, necessary training, and the scope of agreed-upon responsibilities. If a seasoned professional is offered this position, the organization is open to negotiating a higher salary, based on experience. We recognize that the right candidate may bring a unique blend of skills, and we’re open to structuring the role in a way that aligns with both individual strengths and organizational needs.
